The North Block at Jeffrey Place, or NB1, demonstrates the ability to build an urban neighborhood while promoting high-performance, energy efficiency and ecological benefits in new housing. NB1 is the result of the actions of a community of supporters, from materials manufacturers to environmental design consultants, from government representatives to innovative lenders all teamed to establish a best of class standard for green homebuyers. Each of us has been called to action to make a more sustainable environment. The North Block is the first step in National Community Builder's response to that call for enhanced environmental stewardship. By seeking LEED Platinum certification for the North Block and for the Jeffrey Place Community, we are striving to have an immediate, measurable impact on energy use and CO2 emissions â€" not to mention providing a family with a healthy, comfortable home.
